The Middle East is a region where cars and truck is king and fuel is low-cost, frequently leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It’s set up the Middle East’s very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It’s showing rewarding too, already their client-list consists of McDonald’s.
